What Is Juvéderm®?

Juvéderm® is a dermal filler made with hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is produced by the body and works to retain moisture in the skin, helping to give it a full, plump, and youthful appearance. As we age, our HA production declines. This causes men’s and women’s skin to lose volume and firmness and contributes to the development of skin laxity, wrinkles, and folds.

The Juvéderm® product line includes several specially formulated variations, each created with specific applications in mind. Sherisse most frequently utilizes:

Juvéderm® Ultra XC – This formulation can fill and smooth facial lines and wrinkles that are moderate to severe. It can also be used to enhance the lips and minimize perioral lines. Juvéderm® Ultra XC lasts about six to 12 months.
Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC – Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC is intended for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and creases. This face filler injection generally lasts six to 12 months.
Juvéderm® Voluma – The Voluma formulation is designed to provide natural-looking volumizing effects and is often used to augment and contour the cheeks and chin. Juvéderm® Voluma filler can last up to two years.

What Is a Juvéderm® Treatment Like?

Sherisse Hill, RN, MSN, ARNP, FNP(C) will administer your Juvéderm® injections using a gentle injection technique. Though a topical numbing cream can be applied to minimize discomfort. After selecting the ideal injection sites for your treatment, Sherisse will perform the necessary injections for achieving your desired results.

What to Expect After Juvéderm® Injections

Most patients can return to their daily activities immediately following treatment. Mild swelling, redness, or tenderness at the injection sites may occur but typically subsides within a few days. To ensure optimal results, it’s recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and alcohol consumption for 24 hours post-treatment.

How Long Does Juvéderm® Last?

Initial results are often noticeable right after the procedure, with full results appearing within a few days as any post-treatment swelling subsides. Depending on the formulation, Juvéderm® results can last from six months to two years. Periodic touch-up appointments can be scheduled to help you maintain your refreshed appearance.

  I’ve had such a great experience here so far! The owner Sherisse has the best energy! I’ve worked with both her and Kira who are both super friendly and also very knowledgable with their treatments. The entire staff & front desk make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in! I feel like I’m just hanging out with friends during my time there.

I’ve only had 2 sessions so far, so I’m still early in my process, but I do notice small improvements after each visit already. I feel like I’m on the right plan for my skin and really trust their expertise. I’m excited to see the results continue to build!   I interviewed over 25 different medspas after having a few nightmare experiences, and Sherisse Hill & the SHADE team were the only ones who came through for me. My one & only request was someone who wouldn't comment on other areas of my face & body, and just inject the small areas I wanted done without unwanted "analysis." I absolutely hate when providers think they have a right to analyze you, even if it's to say "those lines aren't too bad," or something they think is a compliment! Or worse yet, the ones who try to push more treatments to "balance" things you haven't asked to be balanced! I'm not coming to medspas to be given new insecurities. I wanted to remain entirely mentally unmolested.

I told her I needed her to pretend that I look perfect, besides the small area I did want treated. And believe it or not, Sherisse actually understood and respected that! I've been lured into clinics before that swore up & down they would absolutely not "assess" me or point out anything extra they "thought" needed correcting, or comment on my facial features & body *at all* but without fail, every one of them broke that promise. I called many clinic managers in tears over that betrayal of trust. Largely, it's a harmful industry.

I was overjoyed to finally find a place like this. Sherisse listened, strategized collaboratively with me, performed my injections masterfully and worried about my pain during injections more than I did (which was basically non-existent). The office staff is always truly warm and friendly and seems to genuinely like people. They communicated with me beautifully and even called me back one time on a day off (totally not expected or necessary!) But more than that, I felt actually respected as a person!
